Students and Young Professionals
Are you a Student or Young Professional?
Have you been looking for a way to get involved in WEF or PNCWA?
Do you want to meet other students and young professionals in your field?
If you answered yes to the above questions, you should volunteer for the Students and Young Professionals Committee. There are several opportunities for you to gain leadership experience and network with other students and young professionals.
We are now beginning to organize the S&YP committee for PNCWA in 2011. Our goals for 2011 are:
• Start up section networking groups (Portland & Seattle) and set up succession plans for leadership of these groups (see below for additional information)
• Visit one university or college without a student chapter to introduce PNCWA and determine feasibility of student chapter.
• Support the newly formed WSU student chapter.
• Develop SY&P program (Technical and/or Social Activities) at Annual Conference.
• Revise committee description and goals in Policies and Procedures.
• Develop an online networking communication page for the S&YP committee (through Google Groups, LinkedIn or Facebook)
We want to hear from YOU! If you are interested in participating in the S&YP Committee, please e-mail Steven Drangsholt at Steven.Drangsholt@hdrinc.com to obtain the information for our next conference call, which are currently scheduled for the 2nd Wednesday of every month.

Want to get involved at the National Level?
The YP Connections Subcommittee is looking for volunteers to help with the YP Connections newsletter. They need people to come up with ideas for, recruit authors for, and write new articles, and we need someone to take the lead on pulling it together. They generally only have one conference call once a quarter; the rest is done by email. If you’re interested, please e-mail Sarah Hubbell at Sarah.Hubbell@EntexInc.com
