PNCWA Scholarship Program

Scholarship Application Period Extended to July 14, 2023 

The PNCWA Scholarship Program supports operators and students pursuing a professional career in the water quality field by awarding scholarships on an annual basis. Award recipients also receive complimentary membership in PNCWA and WEF (one year) and are invited to attend the PNCWA Annual Conference in the fall of the year.

Operator Training/Certification/Continuing Education Scholarship

Operators in the Umpqua Basin Operators Section (UBOS) established this scholarship for operators in the three-state region of the PNCWA. Continuing funding is primarily provided by Operators in Sections throughout the three-state region. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide funding for individuals – primarily operators currently employed in the wastewater sector – to seek additional water sector education, training, and/or certification in the industry or to advance their professional knowledge, skill set or licensure. Learn more...

Daniel Keil Service for Water Legacy Scholarship

This scholarship is available for applicants intending to pursue a career in the water environment field with a required commitment to service of those in disadvantaged communities, including but not limited to underdeveloped countries and/or economically disadvantaged communities either within or outside the United States of America. One scholarship will generally be awarded, normally valued at $2,000, with emphasis on 4-year degrees or enrollment in a Master’s program. Learn more…

Environmental Stewardship Scholarship

This scholarship is available for applicants intending to pursue a career in the water environment field. Up to three scholarships will be awarded, normally valued at $1,200-$1,500 each, with emphasis on both 2-year and 4-year degrees. At least one scholarship award will be given to a PNCWA member or a member’s family member. Learn more…

Lucas Eibel Memorial Scholarship

The Umpqua Basin Operators Section (UBOS) has established this scholarship in the amount of $1,500 and made it available to community college students in a 2-year or 2-year transfer program. Lucas Eibel was a summer intern at Roseburg Urban Sanitary Authority (RUSA) and a UBOS member who was lost to the shooting tragedy at Umpqua Community College (UCC) on October 1, 2015. Preference will be given to UCC students for this scholarship, but applications are open to students throughout the State of Oregon. Learn more…

The Education for Operators Scholarship

The Umpqua Basin Operators Section (UBOS) has established this scholarship in the amount of $1,500. This scholarship is intended for an operator seeking to further their professional growth through training, attendance at conferences (PNCWA, WEF etc.), enrollment in a 1-year certification program, or enrollment in a 2-year program. This scholarship will be awarded in the amount necessary for the training, conference, or program in which the applicant is attending or enrolled up to $1,500. Learn more…

Pat Brown Memorial Scholarship

Pat Brown Memorial Scholarship Description: The Idaho Sections (Southwest Idaho Section of PNCWA, Southeast Idaho Section of PNCWA, North Idaho Section of PNCWA) established this scholarship in honor of Pat Brown. Pat, who passed away in 2018, was a long-time water and wastewater instructor/educator who put on countless training classes for water and wastewater operators throughout the State of Idaho. Pat was also a past President of PNCWA. This scholarship is intended for an operator seeking a 1-year certification program or a student enrolled in a 2-year program. This scholarship will be awarded in the amount necessary for the program in which the applicant is enrolled up to $1,500. Learn more…
