From the Newsfeed: COVID-19 Update

(Updated: June 1, 2020) Please visit the conference website for the most updated information. All PNCWA events are canceled through the month of May. We also advised our Regions and Sections to follow State and Local mandates regarding public gatherings. We recognize members have ongoing needs for information and training. We are investigating alternative virtual/digital avenues to address those needs.

We are closely monitoring the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its potential impacts on PNCWA functions and our members. PNCWA is working closely with WEF to keep up to date on potential impacts and we are prepared to adjust to various scenarios that could develop. Please check our website for any updates regarding PNCWA events. Please see the following resources from WEF and the CDC for more information:

From the NewsfeedWARN Resources

During this unique and challenging time in our communities, the stress on the water professionals to meet the public's basic needs for clean water and sanitation has many of our utility providers stretched to their limits. Now more than ever, water professionals will need to work together to ensure that our water and sewer systems remain in operation.

Should you find it increasingly difficult to meet personnel and resource demands, please look into the Water and Wastewater Agency Response Network (WARN) in your state. WARN provides mutual aid and assistance in a single agreement for Water and Wastewater agencies to share equipment, personnel, and other resources. These are voluntary agreements that cover indemnification, worker’s compensation, and reimbursement. This service is provided by Idaho, Oregon, and Washington free of charge.

Please consider joining the WARN in your state so that we can all work together to meet the needs of the people in our communities. If you are not sure if your agency is a member, the WARN for each has a member list on their website. Agencies that provide water and wastewater service should list both sectors as a resource. As always our strength lies in our shared mission; to provide a safe environment for our neighbors.
